Hey Everyone,
Glad you guys are excited by the new D-I-Y challenge! I wanted to post some notes to help further explain what types of things you can create.

Really, there's only two main rules-

1) anything you design must fit within the dimensions of the model sheet (included with the submission kit)
2) the final, produced toy will only be 1 color (probably white?)- so no graphic type designs. This is a challenge to purely design the shape of the toy, not it's deco.

That's it!

The full shape design is up to you! When people hear "D-I-Y Platform toy" they think "simple shape". This is usually to allow others a large area to design (like Blankie). Of course, you're allowed to create and submit a simple platform toy if you want to.

But for this challenge, you may also get the shape as detailed as you want.

I'm attaching some images made by other artists to give you guys a good sampling of how original your sculpture design could go. (all toys & images © their respective creators)

The winner's design will be made here, by hand in our New York studio, and will be a limited edition release.

Good luck, and feel free to post any comments or questions!

:)

i have a feeling i know this answer to this, but i wanted to ask it anyway:

is it possible to, instead of submitting a model sheet, make a clay model of our idea and submit photos of each angle: front, back, etc??

i absolutely suck at drawing.....
