We asked the winner of Blankie Series 1, Matucha, some fun interview questions. Here are her answers as well as links and pictures/designs.
1. When did you first discover your creative talents?
Since Little, I’ve always liked to make presents for my friends like post cards or some handmade posters.2. How did you get your start in design?
When I was studying, I got together with some friends and we decided to make a team work, we wanted to show our work.3. Did you go to school? Where and what for?
I studied at the IES a Little school in my city, I did it because I wanted to learn how to use different techniques and materials, even if I learned more after I finished my studies.4. How would you describe your style?
Is cute, funny and a Little sarcastic5. What sparks your creativity? Where do you come up with your best ideas in general?
Sometimes it came unexpected, but some others with daily live scenes, reading my favorite books, seeing landscapes or my favorite tv programs.6. Who is your favorite artist?
I have an enormous list, but I should only mentioned some Nathan Jurevicius, Sandra Equihua, Alberto Cerriteño, Tim Biskup, Joe Ledbetter, Tokidoki, Kathie Olivas, etc. Etc.7. What do you do to get past creative blocks?
I take a walk, listen to my favorite music or read a book, that clears my head.8. What have you stolen/learned from another artist lately?
More than stealing, I learned different techniques to improve my characters.9. How does it feel to have a design selected by the Aarting community?
I feel very happy, but truly speaking, I would like to improve many little details of my designs10. Describe yourself in 5 words.
Sensitive, devote, cheerful, nervous, perfectionist11.. Can you describe your normal day?
I take a bath, a cup of thé, check my e-mails and the sites were I publish my job. I sketch my pendings and after I give them priority. I take my bike and go for a ride, and then I come back to continue working until I fall sleep.12. Share with us something funny that has happened to you recently.
I went to give a lecture to Chiapas (here in Mexico) and one hour before, my lecture file broke down, the good thing is that I could recover it, although I didn’t have time to take a bath.13. What have you been doing lately?
I've been working for several publishing houses, but also doing some personal projects that I’ll show you soon.14. Any upcoming projects?
I’m performing series of limited edition products, to announce the Matucha brand, and I’m planning to open a Matucha’s store in a short term period.thank´s so much!
