I have been playing with the idea that the "arms" could be a pair of tusks for a walrus. This is my current sketch. Still changing it and haven't decided on the colors.

Hi Incorrectly! I really like the idea of incorporating the "arms" as some other object (like tusks). I think it'll be important to keep everything clear and "readable". It's a real challenge! Also, I'd recommend going over your pencil lines with ink after you color your design. Even if it's just a ball point pen, it should help your design "pop".

Hi, Thanks for the input. My biggest issue is the upper lip. The way it is drawn now the tusks look like they are coming from the lower lip instead of the top. So I need to redesign the mouth to bring the whiskers lower on the figure. Maybe drop the lower lip to open the mouth more. I planned to outline the lines with a really dark brown, reddish brown so they stand out from a lighter brown or grey body. Color is still out there. I have noticed that 72 dpi does not work well with pen and pencils.
